    Question work visa and directorships

    Hi

This is probably one for the immigration people (which I will be emailing as well), but wanted to see if anyone had personal experiences here.

I'm on a work visa with my employer. I may take some directorships of some companies, where I will be paid a nominal salary.

Now, do I need a separate visa for these directorships? They are not related to my present employment, for which my work visa is for.

    Thanks!!

In Hong Kong on an employment visa is pretty strict. You are legally only allowed to work for one company. (That originally sponsored you) Anything above and beyond is restricted. (Even volunteering at the local SPCA for example) Technically you need Immigrations approval. Speak with them and see what steps they suggest you follow. -Be prepared to need to meet a good reason why you must do it.
