Immigration approval for second job with work visa

    Hi,

Anyone have any idea how long processing realistically takes for the immigration department to approve a second part time job for someone here on a work visa? The work visa was issued through a major international company in HK (had it 2 years now), and the second part time job would be for lecturing one course at a university here.

The documents were all just submitted, but the immigration department claims to have a backlog of 4-6 weeks. One problem is that they typically require a "letter" from the company, but only a "stamped approval" form was provided by the company. They said they would only let me know in 4-6 weeks if the company approval that was submitted is acceptable.

    Frustrating situation!

A lot of government departments have huge paperwork backlogs at present for various reasons . I am sure immigration department are no different.
