    Yes I know personally of one case (actually it was a mother coming here from Korea to look after her grand-daughter while her daughter worked). After, I think, 4 renewals of her 3 month visitor visa she was told that the next one was for two weeks and that would be her last for a while. I believe she had to stay out of HK for 9-12 months before they would grant her another visitor visa.

    And there have been a number of reports of similar situations both here and on other similar forums.

    Just to clarify, I was referring to the reciprocal holiday working visa agreement between Hong Kong and Australia. The comments above only really apply to entering HK as a visitor.

    Could she not put the granny on a domestic helper's visa? After all, that was what she came for. I know of cases where visitor gfs switched to student visa - try also entertainment or other skilled category visa.

    CamaronKazi,

    my girlfriend was able to secure a working holiday visa. Keep in mind some of the limitations with this:
    - can only work for any one employer for 3 months or less;
    - only valid for 12 months; and
    - only a limited number of working visas issued each year.

    Good luck.

    Of course they tried that, but immigration said no - you can't employ members of your own immediate family as DHs. And she wasn't old enough to come in as a dependent.
