What is the process if my dependent pass approved during i am in a hong kong as a visitor

I have applied both visit visa and dependent visa in hong kong. I have applied for my dependent visa 7 weeks ago, it is still in the processing stage. My visit visa got approved yester day, i am planning to visit hong kong on 1st week of february.
What happens if my dependent pass approved during i am in a hong kong as a visitor?
Do i have to go back my country again or can i just go to the immigration and change my visitor via to the dependent visa..

    Thanks in advanced...a

From memory, you will need to leave HK and re-enter. This doesn't need to be to your own country - Shenzhen or Macao should be fine. But you should check with ImmD rather than relying on my faulty memory!
