About IANG visa extension!!

I have got PhD in Electronic Engineering Dept from City University of Hong Kong. After my graduation, recently on January 2016 I have got IANG visa which will expire on January 2017. As I came to know that if at the end of this one year of IANG visa, if I can show a job offer letter to immigration then I can extend my visa. Anyone, could you please tell how much salary offer letter should I get to ensure the extension of IANG visa?

I know of people who extended having a job paying slightly less than 30k. I have not come across anyone who was not actually employed while extending his visa, though I'd assume an offer letter (from a reputable employer) would do the trick. What have you been doing in HK in the meantime?

Usually immigration will take a look at several aspects for your extension application, including salary but also whether your job is considered matching for your education level. As long as your salary is deemed as reasonably matched for your qualifications, it all should be good to go. The application forms will also have a section for your employer to fill out, so I'd take some time to talk with your employer about this too. I got mine extended last year, with success you'll get a two-year extension. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your precious time to answer me. Recently I am working with a business company as a part time basis which is not related to my education. As I need to stay in HK to find a job related to my area, so I am just doing this one for some time until I cant find my area job.
