Hi,
I am a HK permanent resident and had submitted dependant visa for my 62 years old mother. The immigration came back with a list of additional documents they want from us. We provided all, except one, document to explain her name discrepancy between those shown in my birth certificate "LIU SIN FUNG" and on her passport "SIN FUNG". The officer suggested us to get a document (affidavit) from our consulate, however when i called them, they said they cannot help with this issue and dont provide such service.
Has anyone faced the same issue? And what document did you give the immigration for clarifying the discrepancy? My mother never had deed poll for her name because she never change her name. It was just spelling mistake, one include her family name (LIU), while the other doesnt.
