    Question Visa Run questions

My tourist visa will run out soon and have never done a visa run before.
I have read posts that going over to Macau and back will work but the posts where quite old.

Dose going over to Macau still work for a visa run and if not what would be an easy run for someone with a British passport?

It works sometimes. If they dont like the way you look, the way you dress, your accent, your skin colour or your hair, it may not. No guarantees whatsoever.

Yes it still works but of course it's at the discretion of the immigration officer whether he lets you back in again or not. If this is your first time then you should be okay. Only question he might have is how have you supported yourself for the last 6mths in HK on a tourist visa and how will you support yourself for the next 6mths,

I know of a few people who've been doing that for 3+ years now.

My grandma used to smoke a pack a day and she lived to be 93.

Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results

True. I've gotten a nasty look once when I returned after just a couple of hours in Macau . . . Immigration agent and I both knew what I was doing, but she (ultimately) let it pass. There was a moment there I think neither of us knew if I was going to be back in HKG that day.

There's no guarantee. You could get another 6 months or you could get 3 days, depending on the officer and whether they believe your story.

Two months ago, I met someone who was given a final warning after doing the run three times......that there would not be a fourth.

One person saved all of their tourist visa papers and stapled them into their passport. Keeps coming and going. If you get 3 days maybe you try your luck at the Chinese border to see if you can get another 6 months.
