Quick OT question: How long does it take to transfer the APEC card to a new passport? (AKA, get the new passport # onto the APEC card)
What form I need to fill? I checked the ID's website but can't see anything related to 'replace passport'.Original Post Deleted

Should there be changed of passport (e.g. passport replacement), the applicant
should contact the Other Visas and Permits Section, (7/F, Immigration Tower, 7
Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong) in writing by post or Fax to 2824 1161 attached
with a photocopy of his/her old and new passport and current APEC card. Since
your Card is linked to your current passport, you are required to apply for a replacement
Card if your new passport bears a different number. Please make your request in
writing and attach a copy of your new passport so that we can arrange to issue
you a replacement Card the soonest. In general, a replacement fee of HK$190 will
be charged for card replacement for the remainder of its validity period and is
payable upon collection of the replacement Card.
The processing time normally takes about 2 weeks upon receipt of all necessary
documents. Further information may be required upon the case assessment and the
applicant will then be informed of further news by the officer. Applicant may authorize
a representative to collect the APEC card on his behalf. Upon collection, you/your
authorized representative must produce your original passport for inspection and
your existing APEC card for cancellation. If one is not a Hong Kong permanent
identity card holder, he/ she is advised to consult the issuing authority in his/
her own country for the application. I hope you will find the information useful.
Thanks for everyone's contribution to this thread. It really helped me to understand the process better.
