    Have you found a job?

Does the company that hired you have any experience with GEP visas?

The process is quite simple (and complicated if your company does not have any experience with these visas).

    - You're offered a suitable job that cannot be filled by a local and your employer is prepared to present why they could not hire a local (not a simple "Max07 is my best friend from Uni")
    - Papers are submitted - your CV, copies of certificates, previous employer references (all of which add to why they're hiring you and not a local).
    - Some back and forth if papers are missing / immd thinks that your company is pulling a fast one
    - Visa approved or rejected

I have got a Job with 49k HKD salary per month and have submitted the Visa application now its been 19 day's haven't heard from them.. I am from India now... Just awaiting to hear about my visa status...
I have submitted all the relevant certificates of my job... and the reference letters... I want to know whether there will be any chance of rejection... Based on the Past Post which I was reading about the Indian''s been targeted.

"What will happen once the Visa application is submitted?"

An Immigration officer checks the documents submitted by the sponsoring employer and the applicant. Will request further documents from either party, if necessary.

Depends on your employer. Top tier investment bank employees would not be targeted, but an Indian trading company with little track record might me.

Your employer or whoever submitted the application should have received a tracking number.

Is an agent involved in anyway?

Has the firm sponsored visas for expats before? It helps if they have as they know the score.

There is a new push by ImmD on the requirement that the employer has to show they couldn't fill the position locally. This might be factor, but it's recent so who knows its effect.

Most of the Indian IT body shops/consultancies have good relationships with Immd and should have experience processing visa applications.

I'd approach their HR department to find out what the progress is. Visas are usually approved on the 30 day mark.
