    US visa delay?? Typhoon Hato

So I applied for an American student visa on the 22nd of August and selected the online option to collect it myself from Wan Chai (the quickest option). The interview itself went very smoothly (lasting less than 2 minutes) but in my haste, I forgot to tell the visa officer about my flight on Monday morning. Now at the time, I didn't think I would need to worry, as he said I would be able to collect it in 2 days and the assured tone of his voice calmed any of my doubts. But now, Hato has hit very hard and I've lost a day... Is there any sort of emergency hotline I can call to speed up the procedure? I know there is a process online for expediting appointments itself but having called, there doesn't seem to be anyway I can speak to anyone about expediting the visa procedure itself.

Also notwithstanding anything, I'm very thankful that Hato did not hit on the day of my interview! I would appreciate any comments from people who've had experience on how long it usually takes for their passports to be ready for collection from the US consulate.

On another note, I am a dual citizen of a country on America's visa waiver program, would it be possible, albeit not very legal, for me to apply for a ESTA (System for Travel Authorization) and enter the country that way and have the passport mailed to me? I could then travel out of the country (maybe to Canada) with that passport and enter into America again with my student visa passport.

He said two days. Even in the event that they're delayed by a day, you still have Friday to pick it up. Don't sweat it.
