Hey! I need help in obtaining another passport while having hksar passport. I wonder if I can hold other country passport while owning hksar. I have read many threads but I still can't figure out whether I could or not.

I don't really understand the cross linking passports. What is that? And is it possible to apply for a foreign passport and use it in Hong Kong?

You can get another passport, but you'll be considered Chinese in HK and China and not eligible for foreign consular assistance, unless you declare a change of nationality. So it depends on why you want to "use it in Hong Kong"

If you already hold a HKSAR passport, you are free to acquire another foreign passport. Whether or not you can keep your HKSAR passport is subject to the other country that you are acquiring the citizenship. If this country does not recognise dual or multiple citizenship, you may have to renounce your Chinese (HKSAR) citizenship in order to obtain your new nationality. On the other hand, if this country recognises dual or multiple citizenship, you may keep your HKSAR passport while acquiring the new citizenship. Note that, in Chinese territory (mainland, HK and Macau), your newly acquired foreign citizenship is not recognised, but you can use it for travelling purpose.
