HELP - the acknowledgement of application for an identity card

as you know, when u apply for a HKID card, you will get the "acknowledgement of application for an identity card" recipe, i will authorise a representative to collect the card for me, because i have to fly back to my country for a while. so if i leave the acknowledgement of application for an identity card to my friend, can i travel out from HK? i just need my country passport and visa permit to leave hk, not this cknowledgement of application for an identity card, right? thank you guys

They will give you a paper version of your HKID card when you apply while the plastic card version is being made (around 10 days), you can use this paper HKID for entry/exit Hong Kong while waiting for the plastic card.

You can nominate someone to collect your plastic HKID.

    1. so is the paper HKID the same thing as the the acknowledgement of application for an identity card? 2. and the person who will collect my plastic card, does he need to bring the paper HKID?

Yes, the acknowledgement paper has to be brought by the person who will help you collect the plastic card.

You can use your passport to leave and enter hk if you are a foreigner, or BN(O) or HKSAR passport if you are a local.
If you are not a HK PR or RTL, you must bring your valid passport everytime you enter and leave hk, even if you have a HK ID card.
