    I am a British citizen born in Hong Kong to British parents am I eligible to hold a Hong Kong passport?

    if so how do I go about obtaining one?

    You need to be a Chinese citizen to get a hk passport.

    Only if you can prove Chinese descent, i.e. Parents or grandparents hold Chinese citizenship. Unlikely since u say parents are British

    You need to successfully apply to naturalise as a Chinese national, and renounce your British nationality. After that you will be eligible to hold the HKSAR passport.

    Look under HK Immd website for the process of naturalisation.

    As for renouncing British nationality, you need to be over 18.

    The precise answer is yes if you are of full or mixed Chinese descent.

    And highly likely no if your are not.

    It is not certain you will be approved or not when you apply for Chinese nationality as a foreigner living for many years in HK. There were people approved and there were also people not approved.
