Indian Passport Renewal (with Address change, spouse name addition)

Looking for inputs on your past experiences of how long it takes to renew Indian passports here in HK, with additional complications of change of home address and spouse name.

Glad for any relevant advice/ tips/ hints/ warnings.

Takes less than a month as far as I can remember.
There are couple of forms to be downloaded from

To add spouse name, you of course would need to produce marriage cert.
For changing address to a local one, you need to provide local utilities bill or a bank statement.

And their call center staff is quite helpful, yo6 could call them with queries before visiting. 58195329

Hi there... reopening old thread... I have submitted my son's Indian passport at BLS for renewal.. it is been more than 1 month... still it is processing at consulate... wondering how long nowadays takes to get such renewals? Please advise if anyone has done recently. Thanks, Green2020

I am not sure if you are just checking the website or you have called BLS enquiring about the status. I called BLS after passage of more than 3 weeks as online status was still showing "under process with consulate". While the person still gave me the same answer but I received an alert within 24 hours that passport is ready for collection. Maybe it was a co-incidence or maybe the system is not so efficient after all. No harm in calling once if you haven't already.

Thanks Yogesh for your reply.I have been calling BLS for past few days but not able to get connecetd with a real person. Always on hold. Few times I was on hold for almost 40-45 min. It is looking like I need to pay a visit to BLS office. But I am not sure if they can help me even if I am there in person.

Got the reply from BLS that new passport has been approved by consulate and ready to pick up.It took approx 30 WORKING days to gte new passport for my son.
