I have always been under the impression that if we use the savings route that we needed 65K GPB + 10K per kid and this money had to be in an account for 6 months but this morning a friend who is applying while we were chatting said the savings requirement has been changed to 16K+ GPB

So before I go popping some champagne to celebrate this good news, can anyone really confirm it so I dont look like an idiot even though i read it on the gov.uk website. I just want to be 100% sure before I tell the mrs.

    What counts as income
You and your partner can use:
    cash savings above £16,000

    Hello!

Is anyone waiting for spouse visa? I submitted my application in Early Feb and still waiting...

I sent UKVI a couple of email and they said a decision has been made and my visa vignette is in Manila.

Has anyone got the spouse visa after the Visa Centre in Hong Kong reopened?

Im part of a FB group for UK Spouse Settlement Visa and I saw quite a few approvals for HK applications but seems some from Feb and earlier are still not approved but later applications are getting approved. Crazy !!

Maybe join the group and ask in there as well.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on with Hong Kong?

Its great to see many acceptances roll in but it seems that a lot of standard applications with bios in june are being approved but priority in march and February are not.

Does anyone have any info at all as to why this would happen?

There's no way to contact HK VFS, I'm planning on ringing HO tomorrow but am expecting generic info that it's delayed due to covid.

    Thanks

I submitted application online 25 May, bio on 5 Jun, received email from decision making centre on 18 Jun asking for more documents. I submitted the documents on 22 Jun, no update from them till now.
I am using cash saving route to apply, very worry why no news from them.
Anyone here has similar case as me?

New guidelines announced for BNO starting Jan 2021.

Question for others, can we speculate what it means for people that have applied who's partners are currently on spouse visas?

My partner is a BNO holder and currently holds a spouse visa which needs renewal in May 2021. Surely it would be unfair for people coming here potentially for five years instead of 2.5 years? They should make it easier for BNO holders already in the UK too.

I assume you didn’t opt for priority?

Standard is a decision within 3 months. So you still have plenty of time to wait unfortunately.
