    No, you cannot work here.

Temp "stay" - visitor - cannot work.
You cannot be a dependent of an "ex" or minor kids.

    No.

To get a dependent visa you need to be legally married to a spouse able to support you. Kids can only sponsor parents they can support (and only if they are PR themselves).

Find a job and apply for work visa.

If you can't find a job that will sponsor you for a work visa, there is the Quality Migrant Visa for which you can apply. A lot more work and takes a lot longer but it's another option (rates you on a point system and then you can come to HK and look for work, start a business, etc.). You get points for being younger, having kids, having overseas work experience, good university degree, etc.

This is extremely hard to get in practise unless the OP is a mainlander or very talented white guy.

Not the main route. Most expats don't come here with this visa.

No, I know it's not the main route- I applied for it because, well, long story and ended up getting a work visa anyway. But it's still an option and, yes, I know it's used more by mainlanders than by expats but I was in the queue for consideration after they finally certified all my paperwork (which took a few months of bank statements, statements from former employers, university transcripts, etc.).

Would seem someone from the UK could always get sponsored to teach English due to the love of the UK accent...

Is there an age limit for working holiday?
