    Thai visa for Indians

Hi there - My Indian helper is flying to India from Hong Kong via BKK (few hours stopover) under two separate tickets (Cathay and Jet Airways) on the same day. The travel agent said that she may not need a Thai visa as she is just connecting but I checked with Cathay and they said that she may need a Thai visa as its under two separate tickets.

Understood that she can get a VOA at BKK airport, but I was wondering if anyone with Indian passport has been through similar route on separate tickets before? Did you have to apply for a "transit" visa in advance in Hong Kong? Or, can you simply go through transit area without having to go through Thai immigration and checking in again (which means she will need to get VOA)?

    Thanks in advance!

Since your helper will have two tickets from two different airlines it will mean that she will have to go through Thai Immigration, get her bags and then go up to departure level and then re-check in to another airline, I dont think she can go through transit area as her bags will not be transferred to another airline automatically. She will need to get VOA or if u dont want her missing her next flight then get a visa in advance will be better.
