    I went on Friday 19th and I have to pick up on the 30th.

    I went last week, Wed 17th (Wanchai) and I have to pick up between 26th March and 26th April.

    I actually missed my date my almost a year. They say they will fine you, but I got away with it. Perhaps getting it done when COVID was around helped.

    Not my business and just out of curiosity how is that possible ... 1year overdue ?

    How about you rephrase the question. How is one supposed to know that you are required to exchange your ID or not during any given year?

    Yeah nah @Sage is right. I was born in 1977 and I have no idea when I am suppose to exchange my HKID for a new one. Do I just have to keep remembering to check HK govt website every 6-12 months and wait for 1977 to appear on this list sometime in the next 5 years or so?

    I vaguely remember seeing posters in MTR stations about updating my ID card. I guess there are also adverts on the domestic TV channels, but I don't watch them anymore. If it wasn't for this thread, I would not have known I had missed my deadline, and I would not have gone to replace it.
