How long did it take you to get the hrp at the end or still waiting?

I will be starting the process soon. I suppose there's no way to speed Up CTS ?

Please share how and where to apply entry permit.
I'm waiting for home return card since August 2019.

Now I need urgently to visit China.
Please let me know how to apply entry permit in the meantime.

    Thanks

It's the same place where you applied for the home return permit.

Tell them you need a single entry permit.

First time applicant for HRP - China born, foreign passport, recently gotten HKPID + HKSAR Passport

Hi everyone, thanks for a whole treasure chest of information on this forum.

I'm wondering if anyone know the eligibility of my situation:

    - Born in China
    - Immigrated to Australia and became citizen decades ago
    - Worked and lived in HK for 7+ years and gotten HKPID and HKSAR Passport (with Chinese name printed on them)
    - Frequent traveller to China over past decade on visas obtained on my Australian passport

When filing out Application for Verification of Eligibility for Permanent Identity Card form, I initially checked box (4) Persons not of Chinese nationality, but the Immigration Tower 35F staff actually changed my form to category (2) Chinese citizens who have ordinarily resided in HK

Am I eligible for the HRP?
Which category will I fall under the HRP application (2 Chinese national or 4 Foreign national/no nationality)?
What documents do I need to present to CTS and do I declare that I have foreign passport?
Will I need to renounce/give up my Australian passport/citizenship?

Really appreciate any insight people can provide here. There has to be other members on this forum share similar background to mine (born in China > obtained foreign passport/citizenship > came to HK and gotten HK PR/Passport > gotten/attempted to get HRP)

    Thanks all!

You can apply for a hksar passport first. With that you can apply and get your hrp. I don't believe you will need to renounce your Aus. Nationality as your chinese nationality is already established.

I have already gotten my HK Passport. So I am eligible for HRP under which category? What kind of documents would they require? Thanks

"When filing out Application for Verification of Eligibility for Permanent Identity Card form, I initially checked box (4) Persons not of Chinese nationality, but the Immigration Tower 35F staff actually changed my form to category (2) Chinese citizens who have ordinarily resided in HK"

Apart from the signature at the end of the form, did they ask you to sign again next to field (2) ?

If not, you could dispute it, if need be.
It seems that based on the documents you provided HK Immi regards you as a Chinese national.
For home return permit first time applicants they ask for HK passport, HK PID card, probably your other passport and a declaration, which is basically a summary of your history of entering HK /and on which passport.

Perhaps they insisted you changed category to(2) Chinese citizen ...due to the type of Australian citizenship you hold .
Depending on if you holding an Australian citizen certificate ' by descent ' versus ' by conferral ' .
I will need to cross that bridge soon as well and like you I assumed I would tick box (4) as we are here as Australians despite our background . In my case it is citizen by descent .
May I ask did a nice immigration officer just help out and retick the box (2) or did they strongly object or refuse and so you re submitted ?
Also may I enquire was your application otherwise smooth ? Or a lot of to and fro about the mainland birth . ?
Thanks so much : oh and congrats you got Pr in the end

    Thanks Hongkong7

the entire PR + HKSAR Passport process was very smooth
the officer was nice and just said I am category 2 rather than 4. No questions at all
do you know whether there’s a difference in interpretation of Chinese nationality by HKSAR vs PRC government?
HKSAR allows Chinese nationals to hold foreign passports as travel documents but not entitled to consular services while in China incl HKSAR
does PRC government also interpret the same when it comes to the Home Return Permit application?

    much appreciated
