Lightbulb Dependant Visa enquiry - Accommodation field

Hello all I'm a HK Permanent resident but living in UK with my husband. Now we're thinking about moving to HK.

#1 In the Dependant Visa sponsor form there is a part requiring me provide my accommodation details e.g. rental receipts; however we're both living in UK and no properties in HK. Am I able to submit our current UK accommodation details(I guess not)?

#2: For the financial standing of a sponsor, they require bank statements/payslips etc. Are there any requirements of how much do I need to earn annually? Am I allowed to provide all the details using my current job and bank account in UK?

    Thank you all!

Not sure about your first question but you can always ask them.

For the 2#, yes show them what you have in the UK. There isn't an exact amount but it should be around 25 to 30k monthly salary.

THanks Plutark! I did ring them but the line is way too busy, was on hold for 30mins and unable to speak with the operator

Is your hubby UK citizen? If yes, then he can stay in HK visa-free for 6 months, during which time you should be able to find a job & a flat and sponsor him? (Unless if you do not plan to work in HK?)

Yes he is UK citizen, however I don't think I can get a 25 to 30k monthly salary job when I back to HK.

    From the Immigration website:

For a sponsor who is a Hong Kong permanent resident or a resident who is not subject to a limit of stay (i.e. a resident with the right to land or on unconditional stay), the following dependants may apply to join him/her for residence in the HKSAR:

    a.(i) his/her spouse; or

(ii) the other party to a same-sex civil partnership, same-sex civil union, “same-sex marriage”, opposite-sex civil partnership or opposite-sex civil union entered into by him/her in accordance with the local law in force of the place of celebration and with such status being legally and officially recognised by the local authorities of the place of celebrationNote 3; and

b.his/her unmarried dependent children under the age of 18;. and
c.his/her parent aged 60 or above.

An application for admission of a dependant may be favourably considered if:
    a.there is reasonable proof of a genuine relationship between the applicant and the sponsor;
b.there is no known record to the detriment of the applicant; and
c.the sponsor is able to support the dependant's living at a standard well above the subsistence level and provide him/her with suitable accommodation in the HKSAR.

Clause c, directly above, is where you may well have the biggest problem.

Your job in the UK is irrelevant if you are not going to be able to transfer it to HK. Your SAVINGS are what matters in that case. You need enough savings to be able to support the both of you. I would target a minimum of HKD200,000. If you have family in HK , get them to write a letter saying that you will be staying with them free of charge. Showing you have accommodation (the most expensive part of living in HK) covered will go a long way to making this work.
