like Shri said, during the 6 months absence did you have a vaild visa for HK like where you still on dependant visa at that time, you can easily explain it if asked as long as you still had bills in your name in HK during that time would be best. Still give it a go and apply for PR as that is your ONLY hope unless you can find a new job that will sponsor you.

That really is a temporary absence. As long as you maintained some sort of connection to HK - a valid visa + some sort of connection like phones, banking, residential lease etc.

You should really stop messing around online and get your application in.
