I am a teacher living in Hong Kong and moving to mainland China to work.In order for my school to apply for a visa, I must have a Certificate of No Criminal Convictions. My problem is that I need a letter from a consulate, immigration authority or government authority in order to do this. I have not been able to get a letter from any of the suggested Chinese government agencies suggested by the HK police; as well as trying the local psb in Guangzhou where I will be working. The UK Embassy will only supply the letter if it is for the purpose of applying to work in the UK.

The HK police suggested I try the home affairs office where you are able to swear an oath regarding the no criminal record and then have a government official sign and stamp it. I fail to see how the Chinese immigration would accept this in lieu of a criminal record check.

I Feel I have exhausted all options and if I don't find a solution soon I may not be able to move.

Any UK citizens have any suggestions?
