    Dependent Visa

    An application for dependent visa for my wife I have already had my granted salary is 60k a month. Its been 2 weeks since the application which my employer are completing how long is this currently taking to be processed in the UK waiting as we want to travel together.

    What nationality are you and your wife. Can’t she just come here on a tourist visa and get the dependant later?

    British both born and raised

    Can't come on a tourist which was our intention due to cornovirus restrictions we'll my wife can't I can. With the current climate don't want to her leave her.

    Ah, yes that makes it difficult. Sorry, can’t really help there then. I’m also a British on a dependent visa. I can’t really remember how long it took to come through as it was a few years ago. Pretty sure it was longer than 2 weeks though.

    Look at point 23 on page 9 and you will see that it normally takes 6 weeks if all document ares provided.

    Thank you though maybe they would be closed due cornovirus and not processing at the moment

    Immigration dept is still up n running, I was there last week to get my kids HK Passport sorted out, they do have staff rotating and doing WFH but its still open for business.

    But only for certain services, passports being one and extension visas being another. Their intent from what I can see is to keep people already in HK, legal. I don't see processing of any new visas, most certainly not on GEP and quite likely dependent visas.

    From personal experience, it takes at least 4-6 weeks to process. With the current situation, you can expect it to take longer.
