    Visa application photo size

How strictly do they enforce this? Would the application be rejected if it's slightly too small? The form says min 40x50 mm and my mother has me a standard UK passport photo.

I don't remember any faff with photo size when I initially applied for my own visa and then my husband's...

Visa for what? My last China 3 year visa application the photo was rejected because it was an identical photo to the one in my passport, and my passport was 7 years old, so they knew the photo was old (which was true, I had a bunch of leftover photo's from 7 years ago I just grabbed one of them when applying for China visa rather than messing around taking a new one). But I fixed it in 3 minutes, just took a selfie of myself with my phone and emailed it to the China immigration, they accepted it, and continued my visa application.
