Reconsideration Processing Time for (INVESTMENT AS ENTREPRENEUR VISA))

    Hi Everyone,

Here is my case for Investment Visa. I applied for Investment Visa under GEP and got refused at the first round.
And then I submitted new additional documents for Reconsideration(Appeal).
Now it has been 3 weeks since I submitted for appeal for my visa.

How long usually does this investment visa for Reconsideration take to get the result?

    Thank you everyone.

Did you apply on your own?
How much $$ have you invested in Hong Kong?
    Do you have any employees?

This type of visa is extremely hard to get if you don't have your stuff checked by pros.
Normally, if you go with big law firms, they would tell you to withdraw your application before you even get rejected.
Unless you magically come up with something significant different than your original application, you probably have no chance even for reconsideration. Being rejected is also bad for your future application.

We are on our renewal after the first year of this visa. We applied on Sept 17 and it is still processing, so they are very slow right now (they have asked for additional documents twice).

The visa used to be much harder to get but that has softened in the last 5 years or so, but you do need to have money in the bank (300k was the suggestion, but we did it with 120 and some collateral) and a plan to create local jobs. The latter is the most important.

    Good luck!

    Is your business very new?
    That actually sounds pretty solid.
Did they tell you where the problem is?
Your agency should have told you to withdraw it before actually getting rejected.
I know some top law firms do that because they have good connection with immigration department.
I reckon those local staffs are actually indirectly employed by you through the personnal agency?

I cannot fathom you getting turned down with this. Hoping you were turned down the first time because of paperwork, etc

Tag team conversation I think ... or someone has gone off their meds because of their connected lawyers.

OP has not been rejected - just been asked for more information.

the company has been around 5 years.
they said on the letter because of financial resources.
so I injected 1.5million hkd more in total of 3 mil on reconsideration.

Rather than worry about it here, if you're in HK call the immd officer handling your paper work and ask them what the status is.
