    Post Unpaid loan, depending visa

Good Day! I need some help. I'm a PR here in hong kong for 12 years. Now I got married and I'm applying my wife for dependant visa. The problem is, I have a loan I havent paid for years. (actually not my loan, I was dumb to let someone use my name.it doesnt matter now, All i want is to fix it) So, Can I still get my wife? i just passed my credit report to the immigration scoring "i". Is there anyone here that can still processed their wives even having an unpaid loans?

You have to be able to prove you can house and support your wife with your savings and income.

How much of the loan have you paid off so far?

How much is 'for years'? Did you communicate with the creditor?
If no comms for more than six years then the loan is not enforceable anymore and you could reach out and offer to pay a partial sum in return for them removing the record from your credit report. I have unfortunately no idea when stuff falls off credit report in HK (anyone?)
If not, then it is still enforceable, and you have a high gamble when contacting them since it resets the timer.

If you're otherwise in sound finances (employed, some savings, etc), government is unlikely to care much about the report. They care primarily about you(r wife) not becoming a burden on society, which is primarily driven by your ability to earn money. If unemployed - not that likely.

Immigration never asked for my credit report when I applied for my wife's dependent visa.
