Dependant visa processing time

Hlo guys how much time it is taking on dependant visa proces during this pandemic I’m on 8th week??

I think it varies between 3 weeks and several months depending on your personal circumstances.

No after the first submission I’m waiting for the reply and tomorrow is 8th week

I think it would be ok to give them a call and ask about the progress of your application. They may be able to update you, but be prepared for them to say that it is still in progress. It's probably best to not keep calling them after that though.

am a US citizen and my husband is a Spanish citizen. He is in HK on an employment visa and has applied for my dependent visa. We received a letter mid April acknowledging the receipt of our application and then another letter on 18 May requesting additional documents. They requested a lot of documents ( photos, family background information forms to be filled out, accommodation proof, communication proof between my husband and I) we submitted all docs on June 2nd and then we submitted letter of acquaintance on June 21. I am currently in Doha and need to leave as I just finished my work contract here and residency here will expire. Is it typical to ask for so many documents?? I am not sure when will my visa be approved. As such, I plan to go as a visitor for now. I called the handling officer of my case and they won’t give me a timeline. She states they have all documents. She assured me that she could activate the dependent visa in HK due to covid and difficulties traveling/ quarantine. She wouldn’t provide anything in writing for me, she just said come to immigration tower and find me. Do the immigration officers honor their word? Can I trust that would activate my visa once issued? What are the chances of immigration rejecting my dependent visa? I feel worried as it was only supposed to take 6-8 weeks. I am just feeling anxious about the delay.
