Hong Kong visa for a campus interview

Hi everyone,

I am invited to Hong Kong for a four-day on-campus interview at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology next month. I need visa to go to Hong Kong (Vietnamsese passport holder) , does anyone know which type of visa that I need to apply for (business visit?)?

I am going to apply through Chinese consulate-general in New York. Does anyone normally how long it takes to get the visa? I got the invitation this week and I will need to fly on Jan 03, 2009 (three more weeks).

Same Visa as a tourist visa if you are here on business only. As long as you are not working, studying or residing here. 4 days business is completely ok as a tourist.

Not sure the time line though, I suspect you are running too late already or really need that form in NOW.

Thank you for your information. I plan to go to New York next Tuesday to apply for it. Hopefully, I can get the visa in time or will know right away that it is too late.
