Need Birth Certificate

Hi All

I am HK passport holder and I need to get a birth certificate ( with both parents names mentioned ). I was born in India and then became naturalised Chinese. Any idea how can I get that birth certificate?

Do you have your old Indian passport? The Indian Consulate has a declaration which they can attest as being a valid replacement for a BC.

Depending on how old you are you might be able to get a copy easily out of the place where you were born if the records are digital. Takes a bit longer to get if the records are not digital (if I recall the last 30+ year birth records have been digitised).

I have no clue if the consulate will attest the birth affidavit for non citizens. Might be possible with an OCI ..

Best to visit them and check.. and be prepared to go back 2-3 times as literally all forms need to be redone ..
