HK ID card appointments not available

Hi there
I’m trying to book an appointment /get a quota for the Hk id card application but it is virtually impossible to get one. I’ve been on standby every day at midnight and when I get into the blimming system (12.15am -ish) it says quota full across all locations. Very frustrating.

Has anyone experienced this problem and managed to get an appointment? Or have advice how to circumvent this?

why is this such an issue? Did a lot of people not bother to get theirs done when it was their turn or is this a pandemic thing?

I don't think it's a pandemic thing, it must be something else. We had our cards replaced easy enough in the midst of covid.

I'm also curious as to what is going on.

I done mine already but I lost it few weeks ago so need to get a new one. Seems like I’m not the only one then. I also want to know what on earth is going on?!

just go and line up before they open like many others do, they have free quota also for walk in. Some people line up over night to get one of these walk in quotas so try going to other sites that is not the Wan chai one

Unfortunately they stopped the walk in - gone there and been rejected twice once at wanchai and even kwun tong

You mean you cant even get appointment for future date? I thought they had scheduling available for booking for next 2-3 weeks!!

I’ve been glued to my computer for a whole week at midnight just to get a slot but every time I actually get into the system it says quota full across all of their locations.
Hence wondering does anyone have any tips or had any luck actually securing the slot?

You cannot get an appointment for future date anymore, cannot walk in, cannot call them. I am in the same position, got some relatives back next month and they were hoping they can renew their HKID's.....

I recently did all within February - also managed to change the appointment once, haven't had the same problem. I just tried the link again and got in after a 7 min wait..

I can't move to next step to check the actual appo slots availability - it needs a valid HKID number to be input and mine doesn't work anymore because I already replaced mine last week of Feb per appointment and yet to collect my new one from Immi :p
