Thanks and how long did it take when you got there? I've got id/old visas/form/hotel booking - is there anything else they'll request copies of as standard recently

My appointment was at 10am and I turned up at 10:05. I was out of there at 11:30.

As to the documents just follow the document check-list from the Visa Centre and you should be fine. Make sure you bring photocopies of everything, especially your HKID. Oh there is now a new rule that says all HK PRs get 5-year visas and non-PR HK residents get 2 (if your passport would otherwise get less than 2).

Morrison and Dominic N like this.

But I've just read about the compensatory arrangement, with a prior suspended visa (due to covid) you can get a visa for free effectively if the previous visa couldn't be used due to those restrictions. But if you apply for a new visa you give up this compensation. Question is, has anyone applied for this and who did you go through? I've just called a couple of agencies but no reply. I'm thinking would they even bother to help if it's a free visa? Then do I need to go to wanchai to do it myself?

Hopefully this info is useful for others too
Did you find out how to apply for this? I found this, but it doesn't say how to actually apply. And I can't find anything else about it, and had never heard of it before reading your post.

Do they still have a photocopier there to just do it all there?

You can apply for it, a few news articles I've found stated its just US passports but they told me directly that any passport can apply. If you had a multi entry but couldn't use it due to covid suspension (2020-2023)

Right, but how do you apply for it?
