    I haven't run this obstacle course since before Covid so I don't know if it still applies, but the last few times I applied some classes of workers (school teachers, journalists, NGO workers, i.a.) also needed to provide a formal "permission to travel for leisure" letter from their employers when applying for an L visa.

    Today I applied for the tourist visa. The staff members recommended coming in on thursdays and fridays as there are less people. The total length of the process was roughly 1 hour.
