I understand this is about the MTP, not the car, correct?

When I did my CN drivers license, I already had my MTP, obviously, as it is a requirement. Since I could not yet drive to China, I took a bus to Shenzhen port, and from there a DiDi to the traffic office for the drivers license. The first time I passed into China using my MTP, was this route, and after the CN immigration, I asked about fingerprints and such. They directed me to a tiny office not far away, a small line of "shroff type" windows.

I presented my MTP, and was asked for fingerprints and such.

Since then, every entry and exit I have used the MTP in the same automated lines the locals do.

If you mean something related to the car or HZMB specifically, then I have not done any further registration. Maybe I DO need to do something? Maybe that is why the 5-step machine at the bridge failed, and they had to process me manually? I don't know, because the voice was speaking too fast for me to understand it and I was not well enough prepared for it. Next time I go, I will be more prepared and hope for the machine to work.

If not, then I will see if there is something I need to register in Zhuhai.

For crossing a bridge from Hong Kong, China, to Zhuhai, China, I must say they have every bureaucratic angle covered. I don't know what other procedure, requirement, attestation or checking they could come up with. You can drive from Alaska to Albuquerque, or Bodø to Barcelona, with just a passport (for some, with a visa) and international car insurance. But from China to China, it takes this massive amount of approvals, which never seem to end

For those of you who have driven over already, do we need to book through timeslot for driving over on the transport dept website or can on simply drive over anytime ?

Yeah, i booked it on the td website. Wasn't sure if that is always necessary or simply when they deal with a huge influx of cars.

Best to comply with the timeslot booking, I am sure the purpose is to primarily manage the influx but also monitor for no shows etc. You never know if you'd get blacklisted for no-shows so best to preserve min. 2 or 3 days before your travel.

I just did my first ride, the car check is pretty fast, didn't quite know what sequence (card or camera or fingerprint) but before you know the gate opens.

I tried doing the ETC registration, there's a person at lat 15/16,they tell you to drive 10 min away to the etc centre. Once we arrived there they said MTP doesn't work. Having my spouse register didnt work, since I'm the only registered driver for the car in china

Btw all who have done it - once you submit the application for HZMB on the HK side, how long did you wait to hear back?
