    3) If you have an APEC card, carry that and a copy with you. We know of atleast 1 person who has been turned back because they said they had an APEC and could not produce it.
I had that experience as well. I didn't bring my APEC and was asked to return the next day to the same counter, at either 9 am (at the open) or 5 pm (on closing), no need to line up.

Went next day at 9 am and completed the process around 20 minutes, pickup on 10 Sept.

I applied for my card today at CTS Mong Kok. A couple of points to add to the guide:

    - At the CTS photo booths in Mong Kok, the staff member who assisted me insisted that my white shirt would not be suitable for photographing. She said it would be too light relative to the white photo background. She asked that I wear a blue vest on top of it (they had a bunch of them next to the photo booths).

    - When I handed over my paperwork, the staff asked if I had an existing China visa and, if so, if I had a photocopy of it. I didn't have a photocopy, so I was charged an extra $3 for that. Seems like a copy of your existing China visa (if you have one) is a requirement in addition to a copy of your passport, HKID, and Access to Information letter.

I'm about to sort my permit too. PR of HK. But got a potential issue. I got a Norwegian passport, which I just discovered is expiring 6/3/25, which essentially is just 6,5 months away. Unfortunately, I can't renew my passport in HK. I have to go to Shanghai/Beijing. I think I can't travel to China with less than 6 months until passport expires. Do you know if I can still get this permit locked down? And can I even travel to China if it ends up being less than 6 months until passport expires? Anyone with experience?

Your window of opportunity is closing or closed...

A valid ordinary passport (excluding passports not recognized by the People’s Republic of China), with a validity period of no less than six months.
