Yep, I just did my application and can book directly. Unfortunately I also just did the "Access for Nationality Information" today so have to guess the appointment time - went with next Tuesday.

Looking forward to the card mostly just since my Visa expires next year.

No they don't. But take photocopies of passport, id card and all other docs

Yes they'll post it - I think they say 10 days.

Just an update, I applied online for my letter on the day I posted ie 29 dec 2024, received the letter on Thu/Fri 2/3 Jan. Unfortunately I was under the assumption that the letter would not make it in time and my friend who collected for me did not inform me until Sat Morning. By then it was too late to make a booking for Sat and I was leaving the next morning. Oh well, I'll get it done the next time round
