New China Travel Card & 12306 (China Train App)

Have you managed to add the new travel card in the 12306 app/website?

When I chose 港澳居民来往内地通行证 (Mainland Travel Permit for HK Residents) I get Wrong Entry (请输入正确的证件号码！) for the 9-digit document number.

Any success stories?

You can now select the new Non-Chinese Mainland Travel Permit, only on the Chinese version of the 12306 app though.

Use the app in chinese, the english version has limited options.

No, seems you have to wait for most of the app to update to accept the new permit.

As far as I know, most of the chinese companies are state own entities which in my perspective will eventually roll it out. However, in terms of preferential treatment, they would prioritise chinese version over english. Best to just translate to english from the Chinese app.
