According to most passport indexes, HK passport felled by 3-4 ranks in past few years alone. India is not a fantastic place for most people, especially women. I don’t need to explain myself on why that’s the case. A good number of Indians are looking to changing their passports and leaving the nation.
Do you have a source for the drop in HK passport ranking? Because its mobility score is pretty much the highest it's ever been right now. So the only reason it could have dropped is because other passports got stronger, not because it got weaker.

@PLamHK only assumptions my friend I know some who aren’t even the same nationality facing delays so kindly don’t spread such rumours. Let’s wait and we shall see the result.

    Thank you.

Most definitely not Indian passport or ethnicity related.

Any of you guys currently hold or previously held China VISA?
Speculating if individuals did not have any China visa ever are subject to extra scrutiny?

I had 5 year multi entry before applying and was all good. they do want the visa number of your last visa on the application though.

Last year Hong Kong had visa free access to 173 countries and their visa free access was revoked by 2-3 countries. This year depending on which passport index you are using, that number stands at 171. You can do the rest of ranking maths.

I’ve held a previous tourist visa to China which was 10 years ago and tried to explain my situation regarding previous passport which had the record of my Chinese visa on it. I tried reaching out to their customer service and sought some clarification regarding my previous passport which I lost during my childhood. They said that I just needed to provide a record of valid visa in last 10 years. The last time I visited China was back in 2010 and 2011.

Never had or applied for anything China related before. Not worried or thinking about it at all though. I'm sure it will get sorted out eventually.

Edit. I do hold 2 current passports from the same country and the one I used for this application I've never used before. So maybe it is confusing them because all they could have on their records is my other passport which I always use.

Seems a usual delay due to more than expected number of applications.
