So no delay my end, picked up the card yesterday. Was ready post-9th December, and couldn't make it there until yesterday, but didn't receive any email / call, and the card was picked up fine.

I recently just came back from Shanghai and the card did not work in the e-channel at all. Both arrival and departure, it seemed like the immigration officers had no idea about the card as well, they asked for my passport which didn’t make sense because normally you don’t need it. Just bring your passport for incidents like these.

My e channel thing usually works in Zhuhai, since Im from Macau. But sometimes the machines would kinda mess up and would end up lining up in the normal lane, and it would take a minute for the immigration officers to allow me to get through. They even asked for my phone number which is odd.

Just got my updated E-Mail, MTP is ready for collection.

Original date was 2024-12-09, and received the delay E-Mail on 2024-12-07. So 18 days late (less in business days).

I'm back in Bombay though, will only be able to pick it up next week. Will let you guys know if that goes smoothly as well.

I guess the physical center would follow HK holidays, though I don't know about processing.

Side note: Went to collect my MTP today (after 18 calendar day delay) - the automated machine first said "Contact staff", so had to queue for ~10mins. The lady then scanned my barcode and told me to try the machine again, this time it worked.

Interesting thing: My validity starts from 2024-12-16, which is a week after the initial pick up date (2024-12-09). Next step is fingerprints!
