China Travel Permit Delays

I just received a call from CTS (China travel services) telling me that my mainland travel permit has been delayed without any explanation. I remember diligently submitting all the documents, but what could be the reason for CTS to delay my travel permit. Has anyone else been struggling with the same issue? I’m an Indian passport holder with HK PR.

Well since India won't issue tourist visas to Chinese citizens (including HK citizens) currently I wonder if there is some reciprocity going on.

I’ve been seeing a lot of china travel blogs coming from Indian travel vloggers. I highly doubt about that. The high level executives from Chinese companies are visiting India just fine.

Business visas are no problem. But the Mainland Travel Permit is essentially a tourist visa, and Chinese citizens (including HKers) can't get tourist visas to visit India.

Mrs Lam recently naturalised as a HKer, and needed to visit India on her HK passport before her OCI card could be ready. The only visa she could apply for was a "person of Indian origin" visa, which is still being granted to all nationalities. She couldn't apply for a tourist visa on her HK passport.

I wonder if any of the people who have reported in the various threads here that their MTP has been delayed are non-Indian?

I’ve been interested in applying for HK passport for quite some time, but as I see how our city’s situation is getting worse, it just makes me rethink for the better that I should be content with just getting MTP (non-citizen). According to most passport indexes, HK passport felled by 3-4 ranks in past few years alone. India is not a fantastic place for most people, especially women. I don’t need to explain myself on why that’s the case. A good number of Indians are looking to changing their passports and leaving the nation.
