GEP Visa Processing time April 2025

    Hi friends!

May I ask if anyone has applied GEP for the first time recently and could share how long it takes from application recieved to approved please?

    So far my timeline is:
    1. application submission: 15 April
    2. Acknowledgement Letter: 22 April

The delay is largely due to weekends and easter holidays.

Appreciate if you could share! helps with the anxiety Hope my application gets approve <4 weeks

I have no recent experience, but it seems to me that less than 4 weeks would be unusually quick. It also depends on whether the employer is well known to Immigration, and the quality of the paperwork submitted by the employer to demonstrate that they have tried and failed to find a HK permanent resident who can do the job (or that you have some specific skills which simply aren't present in the HK PR community).

Thank you! I have about 7 years of experience working in banks and big 4 in the energy space.

Sponsored by a well-known local utility company with paper work done by an external agency.

Hope mine is straight forward >_<

Will post here if there are any updates on my end to help others who are in similar situation

That's a pretty good result. I happened to notice today that ImmD has eased some rules. For example, if the person they wish to employ is a graduate from a global top 100 university then they no longer need to demonstrate that they have tried and failed to recruit from amongst existing PRs. I can see this making the process much quicker in some cases.
