My daughter has a dependant visa on me. I am not a permanent id card holder. Some one told me that when she goes to primary school in sept she has to get her own id card. ?????

    From http://www.immd.gov.hk/ehtml/faq.htm#1

Under the Registration of Persons Ordinance (Cap 177, Laws of Hong Kong), all residents in Hong Kong who are aged 11 and above are required to register for an identity card, except those who are exempted or excluded. Furthermore, a person who enters and is permitted to stay in Hong Kong for more than 180 days must apply to register within 30 days of arrival.

Registration of Persons Offices of the Immigration Department provide the registration services. No fee will be charged for identity cards issued to new arrivals and persons reaching the age of 11 or 18.
