    Question Student Visa Expenses

    Hi,
I'm spending a semester studying at hku in the autumn and will be applying for a student visa soon from the uk. On the form it asks for my estimated cost of living per month excluding student fees and accommadation so ie transport meals etc. I was just wondering what a sensible estimate for this figure would be? Could any current/previous students give me a rough idea of average living costs?
    Thanks x

Just wanted to add a question here. I am a U.S citezen that applied for a student visa. On my visa I gave them a copy of my personall bank statement which has around 5k USD. However my expenses and my school will be much higher than that. On the form I noted that I am recieving financial assistance from family (i.e parents). However I am a bit worried my visa will be rejected. On the flip side people tell me as I am an American I should not worry as the HK gov understand that I am to study and there is no problems.

    Any thoughts?
