has anyone sucessful applied for a new return home pass (回嚮証)with AO status on their id card ( oversea chinese with ROA status) and who have not lived in hk for 7 years?

The CTS person stated i need to have a HK SAR passport, however, i know many overseas chinese people with AO status on their id card have previously sucessfully applying a new return home pass (回嚮証)

I am starting to suspect CTS' employees are sometimes misleding, as my original reason was to apply for return home pass (回嚮証) in 2007 and they refused, saying i need a HKSAR passport

so therefore i now apply for 6 month visas at chinese consulate as i had many bad experience with CTS, ( they also was dodgy when i applied for china visa last year as they conned me in buying additional tickets to china during olympic year, eg, the rule states i needed a confirmation of a ticket outbound from china, but they conned me in to buy a ticket travelling inwards to china.)

As I said in the other thread as well, CTS rules changed a little while ago requiring a HK SAR passport as well as HK ID card (previously only a HK ID card was needed). I just got my first return home pass, and I had to go an apply for a HK SAR passport to get it.

CTS tightened the rules on proof of eligibility from March 1, 2005.

HKPIC is not necessarily proof of Chinese nationality, but HKSAR passport is.

it will be interesting to know whether overseas-born Chinese with foreign citizenship that already have 回 鄉 證 iissued before 2005 are able to renew it when their 10-year expiration date comes up.
