Need marriage certificate to apply dependent visa?

    Hi,

We are planning to move back to Hong Kong soon, my husband will try to apply dependent visa once we arrive.

We married in Hong Kong in 1992 before moving to Europe, I have HK permanent ID card .

I lost our marriage certificate and don.t know if we need to apply the new one again just for the dependent visa?

    Any advice

Yes you will. The procedure and form are here: The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region - Immigration Department

I believe, from the fee list, that it will cost you $140 for the search and $280 for the certified copy.

    PDLM, thanks for your reply.

Will immigration dept starts our application process with our other required documents while we are waiting for our marriage cert?

Or they need all documents in their hands before they start?

I think they'd need the marriage certificate before they do anything much with the application since it is absolutely fundamental to it.

On the same-ish subject... does anyone know what languages HK ImmD will accept marriage certificates in? Presumably only Chinese and English?
