    Move to HK: Questions

    Hi everyone

Was hoping you could help me. I currently live in Shenzhen and am thinking about trying to get a visa to live in HK. I like the HK lifestyle and also the added benefits of living in one of the cheapest tax rate cities in the world does have its advantages.

I am an Australian Passport holder and have owned a company, that is registered in HK for the last three years.

    1. Will i be eligible for a working permit that would lead to permananet residency in 7 years?
    2. My company only has a registered address in HK with no trading being done there. Will this hurt my chances? If i invest in a property in HK would this help?
    3. How long do i have to stay in HK each year?

    Appreciate any replies.

    Regards

What about the Quality Migrant Scheme - might that not be applicable to this guy?

Yes, I suppose so. In principle pretty much anyone can apply for the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme if they meet the basic points threshold, but it's a long process.

The HK company would be pretty much irrelevant. 7 years continuous residence on a QMAS Visa would get PR. I think you need to be in HK at least 183 days per year to avoid the possibility of being declared non-resident.
