    Maid Visa

    Hi,

Looking to bring our maid over with us. How does one go about processing her Visa. Is it possible to do this at the embassy - or does it have to be processed at HK ?

Any idea on time it will take and the procedure. have tried leafing through the immigration dept. website - now thoroughly confused.

    Thanks

What nationality is your helper and where is she coming from?

    maid's visa

To be able to bring your helper from overseas, the requirements are as follows:

1.She needs to have worked for you for at least a year
2.You need to have your valid working permit from your HK company

The forms you can collect from Immigration. That was how we brought our helper with us.

    Good luck

Well, if you have your HK ID card, proof of salary and employment contract (to verify the length of your stay etc), you're all set.

No bizzare rituals as far as Indian domestic helpers are concerned.

The Visa has to be processed in HK. You'll need to go to Immigration to pick up the contract forms. Complete it, both you and helper have to sign. Take the forms and proof of Income, helper's passport copy to the Indian Embassy for stamp/approval and then back to Immigration for processing. Immigration processing takes 4-6 weeks.

    hi,

most people have full time helpers hence day care isn't as common here.

The Gov't does have a few day care centers across HK.
