lack of documentation for non-chinese parent

I'm in the process of trying to grab whatever documents I can get for the ROP145 application.

However, I realized I might have hit a snag. My dad is allowing me access to his personal information and has signed off on the paperwork for it. But my mother is not.

How badly will this affect my application? I can get the marriage contract and other papers proving that they were married before (and during) my birth, but I may not be able to get anything else. (Well, maybe - MAYBE - I can get a copy of her driver's license.) My mother is not a Chinese national, and she is not a US national, she entered the US on a green card and had it when I was born and still has it... I just won't be able to prove it.

If she's not a Chinese national then how is anything about her relevant (except that she was married to your father, who, presumably, is)? Your ROA will be through your father, if at all, so all you need about your mother is that she was married to your father at the point you were born (and that he is, therefore, your legal father).

It should be irrelevant for such a claim, but I am surprised that your mother won't help which is unfortunate, after all you're her son.
