    Wink Dependent Visa application

    Hi guys,

I'm hoping someone, anyone, can help answer some queries I've got about the hong kong visa application. Don't have time to head down to the Chinese Embassy here in Singapore and the person answering the line doesn't speak any English either... Help!!

I'll be getting married in early Feb and intend to go over to hong kong soonafter to job-hunt.

    - While the husband's company in hong kong may be able to assist in the application of my dependent visa, would it be more practical to officiate this in my own country (Singapore) before going into hong kong?

    - Would it foreseeably be a problem with immigration if I have a one-way ticket into Hong Kong without having a dependent visa at hand?

    - I'm a Singapore citizen.

    Thanks in advance!

    hi,

this question has been asked many times, a search will return plenty of information........anyway ...

    1) Best to contact Hong Kong immigration dept. directly regarding dependant visa application, here is the link:

    http://www.immd.gov.hk/index.html

    2) Obtaining a dependant visa does NOT permit you to legally work in Hong Kong, a separate employment visa is required.

    3) on arrival in HK, without any visa you will be granted 90 days tourist visa.

    good luck

It is now possible to work on a dependents visa, Even if the visa is a work visa.

Correct, but this has already been noted MANY times here in the 18 months since this thread was posted!
