what to do if HK visa seems invalid to airport clerks in other countries?

I almost missed my flight Bangkok-HKG because airport check-in staff told my visa to Hong Kong was no good. So I envaded the airline manager's office and sat there until he called HKG immigration services. Of course, there was no response (late evening flight), so he just let me check-in at his risk. When in HKG I wrote a letter to the Immigration Dept. about it and they sent a letter back confirming that my visa is valid.

I am conserned this might happen again. Shall I carry this letter with me everywhere? What would I do if I missed my flight?

    Was it emirates?

When you check into an airlines they enter your passport country (or they've got it memorised) and pull up the visa restrictions.

For Hong Kong on a one way ticket (i.e. no return voucher) you'll be asked for an ID card. They rarely check the validity of the Visa. In any case, there should be stamps on your passport which say ... "Allowed to remain till .. " or something to that effect.

    Seriously, what airlines was it?

    hello

was there anything in your passport that they may have had an issue with it? E.g. the date when the visa expires?
