Belcher's vs Laguna Verde vs One SilverSea

    Hi

We'll be moving to HK mid of July. We've done a lot of searching on the web looking for a place to rent, but did not visit yet. We're a couple with a 2years old boy. My husband will work in Central.
We're planning a rental around 40K HKD and looking for a 1200+ sqfeet, 3bedrooms, near to schools, commodities, expat friendly neighboorhood, commuting time to Central...
We pretty much like those 3 buildings: Belcher's, Laguna Verde, One SilverSea. What do you think about them? any other suggestions ?
    Thank you.

I would add Bel Air to the list of places worth checking.

    Bachelor is the best!

The area is quite convenient and the building estate is huge, I really love their outdoor swimming pool in addition to their indoor swimming pool. It is only 2 mins away from the University of Hong Kong. 15 mins' bus to get to work in Central.

However, if your husband is going to work in IFC which is above Hong Kong Station, then One Silver sea is a very nice estate, the only drawback is you have to walk 5-10 mins to get to the Olympic MTR which is 2 stations from Hong Kong station. You may also consider Sorrento in Kowloon Station, it is only one station away from Hong Kong station. However, if you guys are rich and will buy a car, then driving to Central through the West Turnnel is convenient but quite expensive..

Btw, what kind of school is your son going to study? You'd better choose the location according to that too...

40 K will give you a lot more space (ie 1.500+) in Laguna Verde than in the other 2 properties.

LV is a short Taxi / bus / minibus ride to Jordan / TST and then 2 MTR station to Central.

LV is clean (lots of Japanese expatriates in the complex, and they are top notch neighbors: friendly, polite...) and rather convenient.

Lots of TOP HK schools are located in Homatin / Kowloon Tong area so it is only a 10 / 15 minutes ride from LV.

The other 2 are convenient and nice places too but you will definitely get less space for your money.

We have the same situation, also have a boy 2.5, and will move to HK in October. All that I came up with is LV, our budget is a bit less 25-30K, for 40K maybe Sorento, The Waterfront or even Arch is an option...

I cannot comment on the other places, but my cousin lives in One Silver Sea and I have been there numerous times, it is very nice. The high ceilings make it feel comfortable and the clubhouse facilities are luxurious.

Hi just saw your post about One Silver Sea, I used to lived in HK and my friends were staying there too and I really like the place! Now after 1 year in SG we're going back to HK, so my husband went to see the One Silver apartments but he was dissapointed because there is a building construction in front of the swimming pool, what do you think of that? is it too noisy? I hate constructions but I also know that the condo is very big, so is there any tower not affected by the construction problems? Please please let me know. Thanks!
